Spring Cleaning
The snow finally melted and the temperature went above freezing. The children in room 225 grabbed some gloves and trash bags and went around the entire school picking up trash and tidying up our school. Thank you room 225 for brightening up the school and our day!

It's Electric!
On April 29, Ellis's father Bruce Anderson came to room 283 with a presentation about electricity. He demonstrated a science experiment, used a set of pictures to explain how electricity worked, and answered all the questions. The children actively participated in a discussion: Daniel talked about going to the Museum of Science to see electricity show, Jeffrey gave an example of lightning as electricity in nature, Yanit asked clarifying questions about water turbine and how it produced electricity. Ellis worked as his Dad's assistant. Thank you, Bruce, for your wonderful presentation!
Fire Station Adventure
Room 286 took a walk to the fire station on Lexington Ave. this week. The weather was beautiful, and the children were very excited to go for a walk in the neighborhood. When they arrived, they got to see the fire truck, fire boat, and best of all they got to see Tommy's father come down the fire pole! Another surprise came when the fire station got a call and the firemen had to jump on the truck and turn on the flashing lights and hurry from the station to the call. A huge thank you to the firefighters everywhere for all you do to keep us safe!
