Good afternoon CSUS Parents and Caregivers,
Today is International Women’s Day! International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality. This year’s IWD slogan is #BreakTheBias. CSUS will be recognizing International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month all month in classrooms and advisories. We are also looking forward to acknowledging the contributions of phenomenal women past and present at our upcoming Scholar Attribute Assembly. This month’s scholar attribute is Originality.
COVID Updates
Last week from 3/1-3/8 we had 1 positive COVID case identified through weekly pool testing. The impacted grade level will receive a separate email notification.
CSUS is implementing a new testing option that will allow our students and staff the opportunity to rapid test at home weekly. This means all students and staff will now have the option to participate in two COVID tests each week: one at school and once at home.
- ANY student can participate in the new at-home rapid testing program regardless of vaccination status.
- THE TESTING PROGRAM IS VOLUNTARY. Families must opt-in through the CPS Family Portal.
Looking ahead: MCAS testing
- ELA Testing window: March 28–April 29
- Math Testing window: April 25–May 27
- STE Testing window (for Grade 8 only): April 26–May 27
We will be sharing CSUS testing dates next week. There are two days of testing for each subject area exam.

Friday Night Hype
Friday, March 18 | 6-9PM | CRLS War Memorial Field House
Scholars who attend will be able to participate in a myriad of fun activities and games with mentors and their friends, and eat a great meal. If your scholar is interested please sign up to join us! Scholars will be able to choose activities when they arrive.

Thank You! from the CSUS Parent Caregiver Organization (PCO)
We are happy to report that the annual winter food gift card drive received $3,048 in generous donations, which enabled us to give support to families in the CSUS community over the winter break. You made a difference!
After the last school year in which the PCO only raised $3,700, we are still seeking donations so that we can do teacher appreciation events. If you are able to give, you can give online here or mail/drop off checks to the school for “Cambridge Street Upper School PCO.”
Are you good with numbers? The PCO is seeking a caregiver with a student in 6th grade to become assistant treasurer to help keep our books. Contact Tina if you're interested.

The Artemis Project (For rising 9th Grade Girls)
July 5 - August 5th | BU Campus
The Artemis Project is a five-week summer program that introduces girls to the creative thinking and problem-solving skills that are at the core of computer science. The program makes fundamental topics in computer science fun and engaging by incorporating both hands-on activities as well as real-world applications. Lunch is provided each day. A payment of $100 non-refundable registration fee is required.
