Estimadas familias,
COVID
Esta semana 10 personas de nuestra comunidad han dado positivo en la prueba de COVID. Por favor, sigan manteniendo a su hij@ en casa si él/ella/elle muestra algún síntoma. También, si su hij@ da positivo a Covid en casa o fuera de la escuela, por favor avísenme a mí o a la enfermera Tamara para que podamos tener un registro lo más preciso posible.
Lo más destacado del aprendizaje
Amigos tiene 2 días más de salida temprana este año. El 11 de mayo, l@s estudiantes saldrán a las 12:55 y el 24 de junio, l@s estudiantes saldrán a las 11:30. Por favor marquen estas fechas importantes en sus calendarios.
Juguetes y cartas coleccionables
Por favor, recuerde que l@s estudiantes no deben traer juguetes, poppers o tarjetas de intercambio (Pokemon u otros) a la escuela. Estos artículos interrumpen el proceso educativo y a menudo se pierden, se rompen o se regalan sin el permiso de los padres/madres/tutores. Les agradezco de antemano su apoyo en este asunto.
Consejo Escolar de Amigos (ASC)
El ASC es un consejo consultivo compuesto por padres y profesores que trabajan para apoyarme con el plan de mejoramiento escolar, las decisiones sobre el presupuesto escolar y los objetivos educativos para l@s estudiantes y la escuela. Nos reunimos cada segundo miércoles del mes y todas las reuniones están abiertas al público.
Pronto celebraremos elecciones para los padres/madres/tutores que deseen ser miembros del consejo escolar. Si usted está interesado en postular para un puesto en el consejo, por favor hágamelo saber enviando una breve biografía y un resumen de por qué espera participar en el consejo. Una vez que tengamos los candidatos, organizaremos las elecciones.
MCAS
Los exámenes MCAS continuarán la próxima semana. Si tiene alguna pregunta sobre el MCAS, no dude en llamarnos. También, por favor, tenga en cuenta que vamos a recoger todos los teléfonos celulares de acuerdo con las normas de administración de MCAS.
El calendario de exámenes es el siguiente:
9 y 10 de mayo - 6º, 7º y 8º grado matemáticas
18 y 19 de mayo - 5º y 8º grado ciencias

Domingo 8 de mayo: El Día de las madres. ¡Les deseamos un feliz día a nuestras queridas madres!
Lunes y martes, 9 a 10 de mayo: MCAS de matemáticas para 6to, 7mo y 8vo grados.
Miércoles 11 de mayo: Día de salida temprana a las 12:55PM.
Miércoles 11 de mayo: Se llevará a cabo la reunión virtual del Consejo Escolar de Escuela Amigos, 6-8PM.
Martes 17 de mayo: Les invitamos a una reunión virtual de Amigos de Amigos, de 6-7PM.
Miércoles y jueves, 18 a 19 de mayo: MCAS de ciencia para 5to y 8vo grado.
Martes 24 de mayo: Paseo del 3er Grado a Magazine Beach en Cambridge.
Jueves 26 de mayo: Acompáñenos en una reunión de Conversaciones Valientes de Amigos, 8-9PM.
Lunes 30 de mayo: Día de “Memorial Day”, es un día feriado. No habrá escuela.
En junio: viernes 24 de junio: Graduación del 8vo grado de Escuela Amigos, 1PM. Jr.Kindergarten hasta 7mo grado tendrán salida temprana a las 11:30AM.
Dear Amigos Families,
COVID
10 individuals in our community tested positive for COVID this week. Please continue to keep your child home if he/she/they show any symptoms. Also, if your child tests positive for Covid at home or outside of school, please let me or Nurse Tamara know so we can have as accurate records as possible.
Early Release Days
Amigos has 2 more Early Release Days this year. On May 11, students will be dismissed at 12:55PM and on June 24, students will be dismissed at 11:30AM. Please mark these important dates on your calendars.
Toys and Trading Cards
Please be reminded that students should not bring toys or trading cards (Pokemon or other) to school. These items are disruptive to the educational process and are often lost, broken or given away without parental permission. I thank you in advance for your support with this issue.
Toys and Trading Cards
The ASC is an advisory board comprised of parents and teachers who work to support me with the school improvement plan, school budget decisions and educational goals for the students and school. We meet every second Wednesday of the month and all meetings are open to the public.
We will soon be holding elections for parent members. If you would be interested in running for a seat on the council, please let me know by sending a brief biography and summary of why you hope to participate on the council.
MCAS
MCAS will continue next week. If you have any questions regarding MCAS, please don’t hesitate to give us a call. Also, please note that we will collect all/any cell phones in accordance with MCAS administration rules.
The testing schedule is as follows:
May 9th and 10th - 6th, 7th, 8th Grade Math
May 18th and 19th - 5th and 8th Grade Science
