Mother's Day giving

Giving to Mothers
Ms. Corianne organized the Baldwin faculty to put together mother's day gift bags. They were delivered to the children at A Place for Children, the Salvation Army day care center in Central Square to give their moms and grandmothers on mother's day. Staff members donated gift cards, makeup, lotion, chocolate and toiletries and more to make 45 overflowing gift bags.

Two years ago, the students of the Baldwin School decorated a book shelf at our annual Art Show and filled it with donated books for the children at the day care center.

Read to Feed Read-a-thon Comes to a Successful Close ... Get Ready for the CHICKEN!
Baldwin students finished their read-a-thon logging 6,324 hours and raising $1,200 for Heifer International. Congratulations to the students for their remarkable reading efforts! Don't miss Wednesday's all-school meeting. The students exceeded their goal, so holding up his end of the deal, Mr. Leonardos will dress in a chicken costume!

Thank you to the Friends of Baldwin and all who support Friends of Baldwin for all the incredible enrichments. News from the Nurse
Spring may finally be here! I hope you and your children are spending more time playing outdoors.  Warmer weather also means spring allergy season. If your child has a history of seasonal allergies, now is a good time to make sure his or her allergy medication is up to date. Please check with your primary care provider for safe medications for your child. Non-sedating medications for allergies such as Zyrtec (cetirizine) or Claritin (loratidine) may be recommended by your provider and are available over the counter. Benadryl (diphenhydramine) causes drowsiness in most children. Please do not give Benadryl before school, unless specifically prescribed by your child's doctor. Warmer weather can also mean an increase in cases of lice. Lice are very common in school aged children are not related to cleanliness. Please check your child's head regularly. Don't panic if you find lice!! Contact the nurse or your provider for assistance, and please notify the school nurse or your child's teacher.
Thank you, Nurse Kathryn (617.349.6746)
