Go Tobin Poets!
Four Tobin students recently won awards in the 23rd Annual Cambridge Public Library Poetry Contest. Savanna Aray, Aurora Ramsay, Ravi Sahni, and Adele Umeki attended a poetry reading and citywide ceremony last week. A special thanks to Mr. Neil who was in the audience supporting our students and cheering them on. Congratulations to the poets!

Field Trip News from 107 & 109
After watching caterpillars complete the life cycle stages in our classrooms 107 & 109, we released our butterflies next to the Charles River.
On our field trip to Herter Park at the Charles River, 3rd year students visited various stations to observe Macroinvertebrates, check water and air temperatures, check river water speed, and observe, sketch, and write about some plants and animals. 1st and 2nd year students investigated lifeforms in some rotting logs. Thanks to Susan Agger for arranging our great science related field trip for rooms 107 & 109. Thanks to the moms who also helped us. A friendly duck joined our picture! We think he was smiling, too!
Multilingual Connections
Multilingual Connections is a monthly column that features a different article each month devoted to topics of interest for families of multilingual learners. The articles will come from a variety of sources, and some may also include teaching tips and links to other sources of information on the chosen topic of the month.
This month we're focusing on teaching sequencing skills at home with your multilingual learner. Please enjoy the article, which comes from the website, Colorin Colorado.
If you have any suggestions for topics for future articles for this column, please send them to our ESL Teacher, Ms. Beth Benedikt, at her email.
Library Dates to Remember

June 13 - 17: Book Swap Week. All students pick donated books to keep.
June 14: Notices of books still out sent home.
A Thank You Message from
Friends of Tobin
Friends of Tobin wants to thank the school community for a great year! We appreciate all of our parent volunteers, and we are so grateful to the families who donated time and money to our organization. We were able to successfully meet our goals, and support the school in a variety of enriching ways!
A huge thank you to our co-Presidents, Briney Burley and Tory Tolles, for their dedicated leadership, time, and efforts this year - we look forward to another year under their presidency! We want to recognize Kristin Michaud (Clerk) for always being a wonderful clerk. And we would also like to acknowledge Erin Linthicum (Treasurer) and Amrita Sahni (Communications Lead) for their past years of membership and service on the board. Thank you to all for your contributions to FoT!
Additionally, we want to give a special thanks to all parents who joined any of our virtual meetings this year. Seeing your faces, hearing your voices, and having your support meant so much to us during the meetings - thank you for your participation!

Tobin Snapshots
In the Children’s House 3, we have started a program called CH 3 Spring Guest. The students and teachers invite the family members to our Montessori classroom to share a family celebration or traditions, read a book of their choice, or tell us about their interesting hobby. We would like to thank all the families for participating in our exciting program!
Photos:
* Sigrid Lium, Erik's Mom, is an artist. She was teaching our students the magic of color mixing.
* Samira and her Mom Zeenat Potia introduced the idea of mindfulness and read an ABC Mindful Me book.
