Message from Christen Sohn

Good afternoon CSUS Parents and Caregivers,

Today was our final Scholar Attribute assembly of the year. We celebrated Academic Excellence and Resilience. A scholar performed an original song on her guitar to tumultuous applause. Our 8th graders shared their Cobra Capstones, highlighting and celebrating their academic growth. Scholars from our GSA shared the outcome of their two bake sales, which raised a total of more than $1000 for LGBTQ+ focused non profits. It was a spirited and special way to end our last assembly for the year.

It is a busy week at CSUS! In addition to today’s assemblies, scholars are attending trips and finishing final projects. Last night we hosted two successful and VERY well-attended dances. I am also excited to share that the weather looks to be cooperating, and our 8th grade graduation ceremony will be held outdoors tomorrow at 3pm!

COVID Updates:
Our school community had 1 positive COVID case identified through pool testing over last week from 6/15-6/22. Any families at the impacted grade level would receive a separate communication from CSUS. See here for the Superintendent’s most recent communication regarding masking.

If you are interested in receiving weekly at-home rapid tests for your scholar, opt-in through the CPS Family Portal or by contacting Ms. Howard at [email protected]. Rapid tests should be administered Friday mornings before school. Positive results should be reported to the Main Office by calling 617-349-3050.

Important Upcoming Dates

  • June 23: Early Release for CSUS scholars ONLY; scholars dismissed at 12Noon
  • June 23: CSUS 8th Grade Graduation, 3PM at 840 Cambridge Street
  • June 24: 7th Grade End of Year Trip

Thank you for entrusting us with your scholar’s learning. We understand that you have choices regarding your child’s education, and appreciate you choosing CSUS. Your partnership and trust are a huge part of what makes CSUS spell SUCCESS!

Have a celebratory rest of the week!

CSUS Assistant Principal Search

Dear Cambridge Street Upper School Faculty, Staff, and Parents,

I am writing to share news with the Cambridge Street Upper School community on the upcoming search for the next Assistant Principal of CSUS.

We are grateful to Ms. Tiffany Robinson for stepping up to lead CSUS as Interim Assistant Principal. The commitment of both Ms. Sohn and Ms. Robinson to the students, families, and educators has been felt by many. They both have used their skill and expertise to support the CSUS school community through great transition.

Choosing an Assistant Principal is one of the most critical decisions we make as a school community. We are committed to having an inclusive search and selection process that is reflective of your school community’s voices. In embarking on the search for the next Assistant Principal of CSUS, the first opportunity for engagement in this process is to respond to the Assistant Principal search survey. We want to encourage everyone to share your thoughts and feedback on the professional and personal attributes of what you would like to see in the next Assistant Principal and if you would like to assist us further with our search please indicate so on the survey here
