Spring Tea
On May 29th, Room 287 had their Annual Spring Tea. All of the students invited a special guest to join them for tea and cookies. The children made the cookies and invitations and set the tables for the big event. The children wore their finest clothes, escorted their special guest to the table, and served them their treats!

Author Visit
On Thursday, Children's House and two Elementary School classrooms were visited by local author, educator and veterinarian, Sara Levine. Dr. Levine read her book, Bone by Bone: Comparing Animal Skeletons, led the children in a game of Simon Says with bone names, and shared bones from a variety of animals including a snake, a dolphin, a dog and a human. Elementary school classes additionally worked together to identify human bones and assemble a human skeleton on the floor. Hands-on activities generated a lot of interesting thoughts and questions about science and writing.
Ms. Sara has been volunteering in room 287 and has contributed her expertise to the class science curriculum. Teachers and the students are very thankful for her contributions and look forward to her continued visits.
Bone by Bone: Comparing Animal Skeletons is available for purchase on Amazon, and locally Habitat Wildlife Center in Belmont and at Porter Square Books in Cambridge.
In Our Garden
