Welcome Back!
Dear Tobin Montessori School and Community Members,
I hope you have been enjoying the summer months relaxing with family and friends, catching up on a good book or traveling to see new sites. The summer months have been busy here at Tobin, and I am looking forward to the 2015 - 2016 school year with great excitement.
I am honored to be the new Principal of Tobin Montessori School, and I am eager to work collaboratively with the faculty, staff and families. The eight years I spent at Tobin as the Literacy Coach allowed me to gain a wealth of information about Montessori in the public sector. I was an integral member of the leadership team during the inception of the program, and I have worked diligently to ensure the integration of the Massachusetts State Standards with the Montessori Curriculum.
Although I have an abundance of knowledge about the history and culture of our school, I recognize the importance of developing and strengthening relationships in my new role as the Principal. I also know from Carol Dweck’s work on growth mindset that I will “get smarter” by continuously challenging myself to learn more about the inner workings of Tobin Montessori. My goal is to gain a deeper understanding of the hopes, dreams and challenges we face as a community.
I am not only committed to this learning, but I am also dedicated to maintaining an open line of communication throughout the entire process. To ensure this, I have developed a formal EntryPlan. I will listen and learn from all of you, and this plan will provide you with an organizational structure to follow my journey. My EntryPlan has three goals:
- To cultivate and strengthen relationships with the Tobin Montessori staff, faculty and community
- To collaboratively examine and critique the strengths and areas for growth for our school as identified by the Tobin Montessori staff, faculty and community.
- To establish high priority areas and an action plan based on data gathered from the Tobin Montessori staff, faculty and community.
To gather information or data from staff, faculty, and families, I plan to conduct interviews, send electronic surveys and meet with teams. My hope is that all constituents feel safe to have an open and honest dialogue about their hopes, dreams and aspirations for Tobin Montessori. I look forward to our conversations and hearing your ideas about our work together as a community.
Sincerely,
Jaime Frost
We Need Your Feedback!
I have created two online surveys as a way to hear as many voices of our community as possible. One survey is for families and one survey is for faculty/staff members. You may access this survey at any time, prior to November 1st. At that point in time, I will be closing the survey to begin the data analysis process. Family Survey | Staff Survey
