Reflections from Katie
I am so glad so many of you were able to make it to the Back to School Potluck this week. What a wonderful opportunity to make new connections with families and share summer time memories. Informal opportunities like these are enriching to our community in a very particular way. Our School Home Partnership Night on October 1st is a slightly more formal opportunity to get to know other families in the school. Hear more from Katie >>

Even for students who don't always eat school meals, it's a good idea to put some funds into their account, just in case they forget to bring their lunch or want to buy more food. Remember, well nourished students learn better!

WIC Program
WIC is a health and nutrition program that can benefit many families living in Cambridge. WIC provides food and nutrition services to pregnant women, infants and children under 5 who meet income guidelines. Many families may be eligible but don’t realize they are eligible-especially working families. I’m asking your help in getting the word out to families about WIC and, if you learn of a family that may be in need of our services, please have them call our office at 617.665.3750. Our staff is bilingual and bicultural. More information can be found on our website. Questions? Contact Maria Bettencourt (or 617.575.5343 / 617.665.3760).
