Greetings from Principal Julie Craven
Dear RAUC Families,
I have a short message for this short school week: May everyone have a safe and happy holiday. May we find joy in the company of family and friends. May membership in our diverse and beautiful RAUC community be a comfort to those for whom holidays can be difficult times.
Part of being in a diverse community includes acknowledging that we do not all share the same experience. For many with Native American origin, the Thanksgiving story as traditionally told can be a painful reminder of historic and current injustices. What brings us together is the commonality of giving thanks, no matter our culture. In that spirit of universal thanksgiving, I am thankful to be in a community where we all belong.
With gratitude,
Julie Craven

Want Help with Aspen?
Come to a Help Session!
Wednesday, December 7 | 5:30-6:30PM
Thursday, December 8 | 8-9AM
Not comfortable using Aspen to check your student’s homework completion or grades? Not sure all the ways Aspen can help you support your student’s learning? Drop in to the school during a morning or evening session and someone will help you! (Signs will direct you to location.)
Core Values Revealed
Our new RAUC Core Values are being revealed to students at an all-school morning assembly on November 23. Families are welcome to attend (we ask that students are all seated first).
We are experimenting with Facebook Live and hope to be able to record this assembly for our Facebook page. Find us at www.facebook.com/rindgeavenue. If not, don’t worry--we will also email blast out the core values. Of course, ask your student what they are on Wednesday!
We are excited to begin work on bringing these new values alive in the weeks to come.
Learning Partners Conferences
(AKA Parent/Teacher Conferences)
The goal of conferences is communication that helps family and school work with deepened cohesion to support student success and well-being. We are creating online signups for 20 minute meetings with your child’s teachers. We will send out an email when these are live.
Mark your calendars for the following dates:
6th Grade: Tuesday, December 13 | 8AM-3:20PM
7th Grade: Wednesday, December 14 | 8AM-3:20PM
8th Grade: Thursday, December 15 | 8AM-3:20PM
Specials: Friday, December 16 | 8AM-8:40PM
All Teachers: Monday, December 19 | 3:30-5:35PM
Shout Out to Mr. O
We appreciate the professionalism and expertise of our wonderful PE teacher, Mike O’Connell, who co-presented at the Massachusetts Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance Conference.
Here is a description of the workshop: Cross-Curriculum Instant Activities in K-8 Physical Education: How can you incorporate common core standards into your daily Physical Education lessons? This activity-based session will provide valuable information about reinforcing K-8 classroom concepts into a variety of movement experiences.
