Greetings from Principal Julie Craven
Dear RAUC Families,
Sadly, this weekend reminded us of the importance of one of our core values, compassion. As our superintendent, Dr. Salim, noted in the message he sent to all Cambridge school families, our hearts go out to families and residents of East Cambridge affected by Saturday's fire.
Please know that the teachers welcomed students to school on Monday, ready to answer any questions they had and prepared to support them as needed. We are working to set up a penny drive so that students have an opportunity to contribute toward relief efforts if they so desire.
I include here information from the Cambridge Public Schools that is also on the CPS home page.
As of Sunday evening, relief efforts will be coordinated by the Mayor’s Office and City Manager’s office. Families in need of assistance may contact 617.349.9484 for more information. Updates will also be posted on their website.
How to Help
Please support the coordinated emergency response. Do not bring items to donate to the relief agencies. Right now, funds are being raised by the city and will be distributed to affected families.

Your child may have questions or concerns as they hear about these events, and may be concerned for friends. Here are some tips on talking with children about traumatic events.
Peace,
Julie Craven
