Greetings from Julie Craven
Dear RAUC Families,
One component of our core value, seek Unity, is to celebrate differences. Celebrations and traditions from other cultures help expand our own lived experience and can open our eyes to different ways of viewing the world. For the Muslim members of our community, the holy month of Ramadan has started. A wish for a peaceful Ramadan to those observing this month of fasting and reflection. And I will extend another common greeting to everyone in our community: May every year find you in good health!
I hope you find the announcements in this newsletter helpful in keeping track of end-of-year activities. And enjoy the Specialists’ learning previews, the last ones for the year!
Respectfully,
Julie Craven, Head of School

Cyberbullying: What it is, what can students do about it?
Reminder that tonight (5/31) at 6PM in room A211, Alice Cohen, Cambridge Lead Teacher for Social Emotional Learning, will give a presentation on cyberbullying. As noted in Tuesday’s email sent to all families, this will be the same presentation given to RAUC students at Tuesday’s grade level assemblies. We hope to see you there. We will also share notes from the talk for those who cannot attend.
Sam Musher, RAUC Library Technology Specialist, Featured on Mass School Library Association Website!
RAUC teachers regularly seek ways to continue their professional learning so they can provide our students with experiences based on the latest thinking and research for their fields. Recently, Ms. Musher attended the annual conference of the Massachusetts School Library Association. She was also a speaker--such an inspiring one that the MSLA chose to feature her on their website. RAUC-on, Ms. Musher!
Check out their intro and her talk: This year's MSLA conference included an exciting new feature, four brief "Ignite Talks" by MSLA members each morning after the President's address and before the keynote speaker. Though brief, these talks were an exciting addition to the conference format and worth highlighting. We thought the Ignite Talk from Sam Musher, Library Technology Specialist at the Rindge Avenue Upper School in Cambridge, was a perfect example to share here in the Forum in order to highlight this new addition to our conference.
