Weekly Health & Wellness Tip
Guidance Counselor Shanika Boadu and Health Instructor Justin McNulty are collaborating to bring you a Did You Know tip each week. This idea came out of a School Council discussion about what families might benefit from knowing based on results from last spring’s Middle School Health Survey. Each week Ms. Boadu and Mr. McNulty will share an idea for supporting student well-being. Reach out to Ms. Boadu ([email protected]) or Mr. McNulty ([email protected]) if you have any questions about a tip or concerns about your student’s social emotional well-being.

This week’s tip: Did you know? Taking three, slow, deep breaths can help to reduce stress. Do this at least three times when you are feeling worked up or overwhelmed.

New Music Teacher at RAUC!
We are excited to welcome Jamal Fairbanks as our new Music Studio teacher. While Mr. DeWitte and Ms. Phillips have been wonderful teaching the current classes, Music Studio is not part of their official job descriptions. They took on these classes as a temporary assignment while we looked for a quality permanent teacher. Mr. Fairbanks was chosen from a range of talented candidates. 6th and 7th grade students had a chance to meet him today (March 20); 8th graders will meet him tomorrow. He will work with Ms. Phillips and Mr. Dewitte to get to know the students and the classwork for several weeks then transition into taking over classes starting after April break. We are delighted to have Mr. Fairbanks’s energy and ideas in our Music program and RAUC community.
