Greetings from Julie Craven
Dear RAUC Families,

It’s been a long winter and it looks like warmer weather is finally starting to come our way. As we head into vacation, I wanted to share some fun community events that are happening on Friday to wrap up the week strong!

First, the entire school will attend a play, Here and There, put on by Youth Underground Theater. Here is some information about the theater troupe and the performance itself, which I encourage you to read through, as it is a purposeful and inspiring organization. We are very excited for this youth performance on the timely topic of immigration, with opportunities for our students to engage with the young actors.

Then, we will end our day with our traditional end-of-term community gathering in the auditorium. This time is really about having some fun together. Different teams take on responsibility for organizing each assembly, but a typical event is student emceed and might include music, often by students and staff, some fun interactive activity or student-produced video, interspersed with commendations given by teachers for students who particularly stood out for them in some way. It is boisterous with lots of cheering and many smiles, and feels like the perfect way to head into vacation.

May everyone find smiles and be safe during the week off. We will welcome your students back on April 23.

Best,

Julie Craven, Head of School

Some of those instruments include piano, guitar, bass, drums, and some others. Pick an instrument, learn to play something in just A FEW MINUTES, jam with some friends and let’s R.A.U.C.

Two of our three parent/guardian members are graduating with their 8th graders this year. Please consider being a representative. School Council is a group of three staff, three parents/ guardians, and head of school that meets from 7:30 - 8:15AM the first Wednesday of the month. It is an advisory group for the principal and I always leave with plans strengthened by the perspectives of the council. Send me an email or call the school if you are interested. We will hold an election as needed.
