New Club: GSA
Thanks to a couple of 7th graders, RAUC has joined the other Upper Schools in starting a GSA! (This used to stand for Gay-Straight Alliance, but the national organization has changed the name to Genders & Sexualities Alliance to be more inclusive.) We have about 20 members in all three grades, including students who identify as LGBTQ+, students with LGBTQ+ parents, and allies. All students are invited to march in the Boston Pride Parade with the other Cambridge Upper School GSAs! The Parade is June 9. If your student would like to join us for this exciting event, please fill out the permission slip and return it to Sam Musher, [email protected].

RAUC Musical:
Thursday 5/31 and Friday 6/1
What can we learn from the past and why are those stories important? A group of students struggle to see how three Greek myths connect to their own lives. As they explore the tales of Persephone, Orpheus, and Phaeton, they discover they have much more in common with these ancient characters than they thought. Performances are at 7PM in the RAUC auditorium.

Library Books Due June 8
All library books will be due June 8. I've communicated with your student if they have anything overdue. After that date, I'll get in touch with you so you can help them look. All students who haven't returned their books before the end of the year will be charged the replacement cost, which will be refunded if the book is returned later. If you have questions, please ask Sam Musher, [email protected].

Cambridge Children's Chorus
Cambridge Children's Chorus, a division of Boston City Singers, is accepting singers in grades 6-9 for the 2018-2019 school year. Cantare is conducted by the talented and dynamic Josh DeWitte who also teaches middle school music at the Rindge Avenue Upper Campus in Cambridge. The group has performed with the New England Philharmonic Orchestra, Boston Musica Viva, North Shore Philharmonic, and for Memorial Day events on the Boston Common. They have traveled to Sing A Mile High International Choral Festival in Denver, Colorado and are planning a goodwill tour to Puerto Rico during the spring of 2019.

Rehearsals are held on Tuesdays from 4:30-6:30PM during the school year at St. John the Evangelist Church, 2254 Mass Ave., North Cambridge. Don't miss the chance to be part of this exciting group! To audition and for additional information, please contact Wendy Silverberg, 617.869.8848 or [email protected].

Survey

Got Feedback?
We can't wait to hear from you! CPS is conducting our first annual Family Survey, and we hope to hear from you by June 14th!

If you haven't already received an email or text message, or it's gotten lost in your inbox, check out our Family Survey page and click on your family's school(s). You can also find questions & answers about the survey, view our outreach plan, and even make comments on ways to improve our outreach strategy.

For those who don't have a good way to take it from home, watch for survey-taking stations at events at school. We value your feedback and hope to learn and improve based on what we hear from you.

The survey is part of our continuous improvement efforts, a key component of our CPS District Plan
