book fair
Book Fair this Week!
The Summer Reading Book Fair is up through Fri. morning in the Peabody-RAUC Library! Fantastic Book Fairs, an independent company, has an excellent selection of current titles. Students will come in their ELA classes, and can shop before school, during recess, and after school. You can also shop online at Rindge.fantasticbookfairs.com and books will be delivered to school within a few days. We receive a percentage of the proceeds to purchase more great books for our library! Contact library teacher Sam Musher, [email protected], with any questions.

Tom Trainor Presents at Harvard
Our 8th grade social studies teacher, Mr. Trainor, has been piloting a civic action project as part of the roll out of the new state standards in History/Social Science. Throughout the spring he has been working with district and Harvard educators to bring this new learning experience to our students. That work includes attending numerous meetings and being regularly filmed. This Saturday he and the district History/Social Science Coordinator Adrienne Stang presented at Harvard to educators from across the state. The buzz among students has been energizing as they dive into their civic action. This too is equity work--students choosing the civic action of their choice increases relevancy and engagement. We’re grateful for Mr. Trainor's willingness to go above and beyond for our students and all students.

Courageous
Courageous Conversations
Sharing-Out Display
School staff/teachers, families, and community members from Rindge Avenue Upper Campus, Baldwin School, and Peabody School participated in five Courageous Conversations to discuss race and racial equity, and how they impact teaching, learning, and family experiences at school. We learned from each other's experiences and stories. Each participant in May wrote down one action that they will take to help promote racial equity and create a more inclusive experience for all of our students and families. You can see these actions in the school lobby through the end of the school year. We hope to continue these conversations next school year and hope you can join us.

RAUC Runners at State Championships
This Saturday some of your RAUC Runners, Tanmay Ashar, Victor Delaney Sire, Ellie Harmon, and Yunus Yildirim, competed in the Massachusetts Middle School Track and Field State Championships! In our division each race had almost 100 runners from around the state competing, so in exciting news...Ellie Harmon came in 10th place in the mile and Yunus Yildirim medaled, coming in 8th place in the 200-meter dash!

Join in #TrashTag
Our names are Jing, Leila, Retaj, and Winta. We are in the 8th grade. We are doing a civic action project about the #Trashtag project. If you use any kind of social media, you might’ve heard of the #TrashTag. The #TrashTag is a viral challenge where you take a before and after image of you cleaning up a place in your community. The #TrashTag has been a great way to raise awareness about littering. Our plan is to contribute to the #TrashTag by cleaning up a portion of Danehy Park, a local park in our area! We will all document our work and post it on social media to spread awareness about the #TrashTag. We hope that you would be interested in contributing to help spread awareness by posting on social media yourself. The Earth would be so much less polluted. We really hope we can help make a difference in our community. Thank you.
