Social-Emotional Tip of the Week

Children can learn a lot from their caregiver about how to form positive relationships. Apologizing and admitting when you are in the wrong is a great way to demonstrate the ability to form and maintain positive relationships!

Movie Field Trip the Day Before Thanksgiving

In what has become a RAUC commUnity tradition, the entire school will go watch a movie together on Wednesday, November 27th. We will watch the movie Playing with Fire at Apple Cinemas in Cambridge, MA. This movie is a comedy where firefighters have to babysit a group of rambunctious children. The movie is rated PG.

We will depart RAUC at 9:05AM, and we will walk to Apple Cinemas. We plan on returning to RAUC around 12PM for lunch. All students must dress according to the weather forecast.

The cost of this field trip is
$5. If desired, for an additional $5.50 fee, students will be able to purchase a prepackaged snack of a small popcorn. Prepackaged snacks must be purchased before the field trip.

ALL students will attend the trip regardless of their ability to pay. Please consider including an extra donation to support access for all.

Permission slips were handed out to students in advisory. It is also attached here. Please send them in as soon as possible.

Introducing Remind App for Texting with Teachers

remind app logoTexting with Teachers We are excited to share that RAUC is trying out Remind! If you're not already familiar with Remind, it's a classroom communication tool that makes it easy to stay involved with your child's learning. Remind is free to use, and you'll be able to get and send messages on any device—even a text message using the Remind app on your phone! Remind also provides some translation services.

As part of this rollout, official accounts have been created for all the teachers and families at RAUC. On Thurs., Nov. 14, you'll receive an email or text message from Remind. All you need to do is follow the steps in the message to finish setting up your account. Watch this video demo see how Remind works: https://youtu.be/W3_UQAC9hro

Remind is another option for communicating with your student's teachers. No one is required to use it, and it will not replace school communications like this newsletter. If you have questions about this tool, please contact our Library Technology Specialist, Sam Musher ([email protected]) or our Family Liaison, Taraneh Ahmadi ([email protected]).
