Equity Update: Themes from staff equity work

Over this past year, all RAUC educators engaged in differentiated personal equity work once a month. For this final month, staff reflected on what they have learned through this personal equity work and some potential next steps. Some themes included...

  • The importance of listening to others’ stories and especially listening to our students
  • Encouraging student voice
  • The importance of collaboration and doing the work with others
  • Anti-racist work is a continuous process

We hope that you can be encouraged by these reflections and also recognize that there is still much work to be done. For more information about equity work at RAUC, please check out our RAUC Equity Website.

Time to return library books!

Time to return library books! Please help your child look for school library books! Even if they're from elementary school, we want 'em back. They can be returned in the green Library Return bin by the front door, or to any teacher. Your child can check what they have out by logging into the library catalog with their Aspen account, or by asking Ms. Musher. If you have questions, you can also ask Sam Musher. Thank you so much for your help!

Reminder: Scheduling portfolio presentations and final listening conferences!

Listening conferencesFamilies: We hope that by now you have been able to schedule a final listening conference with your student’s advisor. This conference is especially important as your students will have an opportunity to present and reflect on their portfolios! If you have not been able to schedule one yet, we encourage you to please respond to your student’s advisor or if you haven’t heard from your student’s advisor, please reach out to Julia Ho.
