First Quarter Ends Friday, November 12

What can you do to support your student?

  • Support your student’s agency--encourage them to check in with their teachers to see if they are missing work or need to do more to bring their grade up.
  • Teachers should be contacting families of students that they are having academic concerns about.
  • You can also check your student’s Aspen grade to see if your student is missing any work.
  • You should also ask your student to share with you any feedback teachers have given--ask them to show you work completed on google classroom
  • Need help logging into Aspen?

Please note district policy is asking upper schools to shift to an advisory conference structure.

  • That means that there will not be traditional parent/teacher conferences.
  • The next Advisory conference will be at the semester mark.
  • Families are always welcome to reach out to their student’s advisors about any questions or concerns.

Forgot to order photos from picture day? There’s still time!

Picture DayIf you’d like to order photos of your student or other specialty products from picture day, you still can. You can do this by sending a paper order form with your student to the school (they can give it to Julia Ho). You can also wait to order until the proof picture comes out (~in about 4-5 weeks). If you pre-ordered photos, you should receive them in about 4-5 weeks.

Missed picture day or worried you won’t like the photos? There will be a re-take picture day on Thursday, Dec. 2nd. We’ll send a reminder closer to the date.

Looking to support the Community? Consider donating to RAUC Snack Pantry!

PantryHere’s how you can help:

  • Send in healthy, shelf stable and individual sized snacks for our students. Snack ideas include Granola bars, Nutrigrain bars, goldfish crackers, animal crackers etc.
  • If sending by mail, please address to Julia Ho at Rindge Avenue Upper School, 70 Rindge Avenue, Cambridge, MA 02140.
  • If dropping off in person, please contact Julia Ho via email or 617.352.5781 or come to the school during school hours and ring the doorbell at the front entrance.

Information on the pantry

  • Our snack pantry helps ensure students who don’t have a snack don’t go hungry!
  • Teachers will be making sure that students eat snacks in a safe way.
  • For more information on the effects of hunger on children’s academic performance and behavior in school, please see this page.
