February Break Testing Plan

February Break - COVID Testing PlanYou should have received an email from the district with information about the testing plan. Here is a summary:

  • The school will give ALL students a FREE at-home test next week
    • Advisors will distribute and keep track of who has been given a test.
      • We will send a communication on the day that happens so you can be aware!
    • If a student is absent on the day the tests are given out, they can ask their advisor the next day they are in school.
    • NO caregiver may pick up a test for a student; we are only allowed to distribute one test to each student directly.
  • ALL students and staff are expected to use the at-home test on Sunday morning, February 20th
    • IF your student has tested positive for COVID within the last three months
      • They will still be given a test
      • They should ONLY take the at-home test IF they have any COVID-19 symptoms on Sunday
      • Otherwise, save the test for a future use!
    • If your student tests positive on Sunday, please notify the school immediately and follow our covid protocols.

Equity Update

Equity UpdateCaption: 6th grade students created door art installations to combat racism as part of a culminating project in their Social Studies class. In the unit, students explored how art has been used as a tool to change people's perspectives throughout history. You can see these all around RAUC!

Here are some other highlights for RAUC equity work this month:

  • Equity self-assessment: Our school council, which includes students, parents and caregivers, educators, and community members, will be beginning an equity self-assessment this month. This process involves individual assessments of our school policies, school climate, staff and more; group discussion about our individual assessments; and brainstorming on next steps. Interested in learning more? Check out our most recent school council notes here or email Julia Ho.
  • Advisory lessons: This month, in our advisory lessons, we are focusing on celebrating and honoring Black joy, beauty, achievement, and resilience. We encourage you to ask your students what they’re learning this month!
