Reminder: Early release days next week

We have an early release day next Monday (6/27) and Wednesday (the last day of school):

  • Monday, June 27 - Dismissal at 12:00PM
    •  This is an early release ONLY for middle school students
    •  If you have an elementary student, they have a full day
    • The buses will make two separate runs.
  • Wednesday, June 29 - Dismissal at 12:55PM
  • For both days: Students will have lunch and regular bus routes

8th grade families: Reminders for graduation

capWhen: Monday, June 27, 1-2PM

  • Graduates should arrive at 12:30 (they will be dismissed after morning rehearsal, usually around 10am)
  • Guests can arrive anytime AFTER 12:15 (to allow our students to have a safe dismissal)

Where: Outdoors behind the school.

  • Graduates and dignitaries will be seated on chairs facing the bleachers.
  •  Guests will sit on bleachers on Haskell St. (sections closest to the school).

RAIN PLAN

  • If it rains, graduation will be indoors in the RAUC auditorium.
    • Each student can have a maximum of TWO guests.
    • As per district rules, guests must be vaccinated, boosted and masked.

Post-Graduation Reception

  • After the graduation ceremony, all 8th grade students and families are welcome to join a reception with light refreshments and snacks at Bergin Park, organized by FRAUC (Families of RAUC).

Volunteer Opportunities: FRAUC (Families of RAUC) needs your help!

  • RAUC Block Party - Clean up
  • 6th and 7th grade families:
    • FRAUC needs a couple 6th or 7th grade parents/caregivers to help set up and keep watch over the refreshments for the post-graduation reception on June 27th from 12:45-2:15pm.
    • Interested? Please contact Tracy Walton, FRAUC co-chair. Please feel free to bring a book and your children!

Summer reading

  • We will give ALL students one summer reading book. Students should return this book to school in the fall. We expect all students to…
    -Read this book AND 4 other books (so 5 books in total) this summer.
    -Read for at least 20 minutes each day or 2.5 hours a week.
    -Record their reading in this summer reading log>>

Just for fun: RAUC students run in State & City Championship

RAUC students competed last Wednesday, June 15 at the City Championship and absolutely ran their best. Four RAUC students (pictured below) also competed on Saturday, June 11 at the State Championship! Jasen Thomas ran the 100 meter dash and came in 10th overall for our Division! Congrats to all our students who competed!
