  • B3 has posted a link to recordings for all EEC Virtual Town Halls on its webpage.
  • EEC’s Phase 2 draft Health and Safety Protocols will be posted at this link very soon, according to the Commissioner. Link is located just above “Frequently Asked Questions”.
  • Shared Services MA posted an interesting presentation, Navigating During a Health Crisis: Finance Considerations for Early Childhood Programs. Note programs are currently being offered free membership.
  • Click here to learn about Families First Coronavirus Response Act extended family and sick leave for employees caring for a child because the child’s school or childcare provider is closed due to Coronavirus.
  • The McCormick Center for Early Childhood Leadership is offering a 4-part webinar series, Navigating the New Norms. Series features Tom Copeland, Susan MacDonald, Cynthia Jackson, and Geania Dickey. Registration is by individual webinars; fee is $25 for each webinar.
  • The Boston Area Reggio Inspired Network posted a recorded 1 ½ hour webinar by Susan MacDonald, a former preschool director and author, titled Inspiring Resilience and Hope During Challenging Times.
  • B-3 Mentors, Bess Emanuel and Polly Smith, are facilitating Cambridge Directors Support meetings on Zoom every Friday at 2PM (open to all Cambridge directors). Check your email inbox every Friday morning for the Zoom link.

  • Child Care Aware has made it easy for providers to advocate for $50B in relief funding for child care through their Speak Up for Child Care webpage. After filling out your information, the full text of the message will appear as well as a text box to add “your story”.

  • The Cambridge STEAM Initiative is re-offering its successful virtual Community of Practice (CoP) series for educators and program directors. Focus is on how to adapt STEAM curriculum to remote learning opportunities. CoPs dates are May 27th, June 3rd, June 17th, and June 24th and run 2-4PM. Register using Sched by: 1) first selecting STEAM Curriculum Building CoP 1, 2) clicking on the “Sign-Up” button that creates a Sched account, and 3) clicking on “add to my Sched” button.
  • B-3 Coaches began their 3-part Zoom Back to the Future: Community, Connections, and Transitions Community of Practice on May 20th. Two more sessions will take place on: 
    Dates:
    -- June 3 – Curriculum Considerations
    -- June 17 – Creating a Sense of Community
    Times:
    -- Infant Teachers (0-12 mo.) 9:30-11AM
    -- Toddler Teachers (12-36 mo.) 12:30-2PM
    -- Preschool Teachers (3-5 yrs.) 2:30-4PM
    -- Directors are invited to participate in any of the 3 sessions

  • Dr. Susan Linn is back with Audrey the Duck in their new 11-minute video, I’m Tired of the Virus! Audrey’s frustrations with everything provides the framework for this video that ends with relationship building through play.
  • Cambridge Public Library’s eLibrary links families to TumbleBookLibrary. There, families will find animated talking books, read-along chapter books, graphic novels, and short National Geographic videos.
